MeetingsWilmington Area Woodturners Association meets monthly on the second Saturday of each month.
Additional training sessions may be scheduled to take advantage of special Opportunities.
Our meetings concentrate on the "how to's" of the craft with demonstrations of various techniques.
All aspects of the craft such as wood selection, lathes, chucks, jigs, tool types and use, sharpening and safety are covered.
Time is also devoted to the design and artistic aspects of woodturning.
Members can share their own work with others during the "Show and Tell" portion of the meeting.
Meeting Time and PlaceOur meeting place is at the Cape Fear Community College North Campus at the BB&T Auditorium inside of the McKeithan Building, (Click Here for Directions).
Meetings start at 9:30 am and run for approximately three hours and occur on the 2nd Saturday of the month.
We occasionally have all day meetings with special demonstrators, so please check the events page for current meeting information.
Periodically, Wilmington Area Woodturners Association organizes and sponsors special programs featuring nationally
and internationally known woodturning experts. These programs provide members exposure and access to some of the
best woodturners in the world. They generally last all day to make time worthwhile and may involve some slight additional cost.
